Payouts & settlements
Pay sellers, drivers, creators and claimants in 40 countries from one balance and one API. Cards, IBAN, e-wallets and local rails, with compliance checks on every recipient and settlement on a schedule you choose — down to the same day.
Payout methods
One integration covers every way your recipients want to be paid. You send an amount, a currency and a destination; Target picks the rail, screens the recipient, converts the currency if it has to and confirms delivery by webhook. A single payout, a Friday batch of 50,000 or a CSV from your finance team — the same endpoint handles all three, and every line is reconciled in the dashboard next to your acquiring turnover.
Cards via Visa Direct / Mastercard Send
Push funds to any Visa or Mastercard debit card, 24/7 including weekends. The recipient enters a card number once on a Target-hosted page; you keep a token. Typical delivery under 30 minutes.
IBAN / SEPA Instant
Transfers to any IBAN in the SEPA zone in under 10 seconds where the receiving bank supports Instant, next business day everywhere else. Faster Payments for GBP, SWIFT for the rest of the world.
E-wallets
Pay to PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and 20 regional wallets by e-mail address or phone number. Useful where card ownership is low, and for recipients who would rather not share bank details with you.
Local rails in 40 countries
Domestic clearing in 40 countries — PIX in Brazil, UPI in India, SPEI in Mexico, Faster Payments in the UK — so the recipient sees a local transfer at local cost, not a correspondent-bank wire three days later.
Batch API & CSV upload
Send up to 10,000 payouts in one request, or drop a CSV into the dashboard. Every line is validated before anything moves; errors come back line by line, so one bad IBAN never blocks the rest of the batch.
Compliance checks built in
Sanctions and PEP screening on every recipient, IBAN and card validation, velocity limits and a four-eyes approval flow for batches above a threshold you set. The full audit trail is exportable on request.
Funds land on a schedule you can plan around
Acquiring proceeds settle to your account net of fees on a fixed cycle, and payouts draw on the same balance — so you always know what you can send today. The cycle depends on your plan; the currency list and cut-off times are the same for card, IBAN and wallet destinations.
| Plan | Schedule | Cut-off | Currencies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start | T+3 three business days after capture |
16:00 CET, Monday to Friday | Any of 25 settlement currencies, one per account |
| Business | T+1 next business day |
18:00 CET, Monday to Friday | 25 settlement currencies, up to five accounts |
| Enterprise | T+0 same day, several cycles a day |
20:00 CET, weekends on request | 25 settlement currencies, unlimited accounts, plus local rails in 40 countries |
Cut-off times
All times are CET. A payout created before the cut-off leaves in the same cycle; anything later joins the next one. Card payouts and SEPA Instant ignore the cut-off entirely and run around the clock.
Weekends & holidays
Bank settlement follows TARGET2 business days. Visa Direct, Mastercard Send, SEPA Instant and most local rails settle on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays without any change on your side.
Reserves
A rolling reserve applies only to high-risk merchants during the first months and is released automatically on schedule. The available balance in the dashboard always shows what you can pay out right now.
Money where it should be.
Today.
Late payouts cost you sellers, drivers and partners. Target pays out from the balance you already hold, on the day you ask, and tells you the moment the money lands — so your finance team stops answering “where is my money?” e-mails and your recipients stop asking.
Four use cases
Any business that owes money to many people at once has the same problem: hundreds of small transfers, several countries, several rails, and a finance team reconciling by hand on a Friday evening. Four places where Target payouts replace that work.
Marketplaces
Split each order between the platform and the seller at capture, hold the seller’s share until delivery is confirmed, then pay out on a weekly cycle or on demand. Sellers see one clear reference per payout; you see one report per cycle, with commission and refunds already netted.
Solutions for marketplacesGig platforms
Drivers, couriers and freelancers expect to be paid the day they finish a shift. Card payouts land in minutes, cost from €0.25 and run at weekends — and you can expose an “instant payout” button in your own app with a single API call behind it.

Monthly commission runs to thousands of publishers in 40 countries, each in their own currency and to their preferred method. Upload one CSV, approve once, and every publisher receives a payout with your reference and an e-mail receipt — conversion at a 0.5% mark-up on the mid-market rate.
How currency conversion worksInsurance
Pay a claim to the policyholder’s card in minutes instead of a cheque in weeks. There are no bank details to collect: the claimant enters a card number once on a Target-hosted page, and the payout is screened, sent and confirmed automatically, with the claim number as the reference.

Visa Direct and Mastercard Send payouts usually reach the card within 30 minutes, at any hour and on any day of the week; a small number of issuers post them within two business days. SEPA Instant transfers to an IBAN land in under 10 seconds where the receiving bank supports the scheme, and standard SEPA transfers arrive the next business day. You get a payout.paid webhook the moment the rail confirms delivery.
Not if you accept payments with Target: payouts draw on your settlement balance, net of fees, as soon as it is available. If you only use payouts, or you pay out more than you take in, you top up a dedicated payout balance by bank transfer in any of the 25 settlement currencies. Balance alerts are on every plan; automatic top-up from a linked account is available on Business and Enterprise.
A payout can fail because the IBAN is closed, the card has expired, the recipient is blocked by sanctions screening or a local rail rejects the transfer. In every case the money returns to your balance automatically, the dashboard shows a reason code, and a payout.failed webhook fires so your system can ask the recipient for new details. Failed and returned payouts are not charged.
From €0.25 per payout to EU cards and IBANs on every plan. E-wallet and local-rail payouts are priced per country, and currency conversion is a 0.5% mark-up on the mid-market rate with no hidden spread. Volume tiers are agreed individually on Enterprise. There is no monthly fee for payouts on the Start plan — see the fee tables for the full list.
